Oyster Catcher Trail Run 2015

Venue: Sandpiper Sports Centre, Boggoms Bay, Garden Route, Western Cape
Event Format: Solo’s


Distances:
3 Day Trail Run: Day 1: 25km, Day 2: 20km and Day 3: 16km
2 Day Trail Run: Day 1: 20km and Day 2: 16km
1 Day Trail Run: 16km (St Blaize Trail)

Entry Fees:
Pre-entries qualify for goodie bags and lunches.
3 Day Trail Run: R1950
2 Day Trail Run: R1550
1 Day Trail Run: R550 (late entries do not qualify for a lunch ticket or race apparel) International guests can join for a fully catered tour by going to our travel page

Oyster Catcher Trail Run, included in the entry fee:
– 3 days of absolutely magnificent trails along the coast line of the Southern Cape, between Reins Private Nature Reserve and Mosselbay
– Permission to use the private property
– Free coffee and rusks at race venue each morning
– Well marked and set out route
– 1 well stocked water table per day on route with all the goodies
– Water table at the finish
– Goodie bag (late entries do not qualify for goodie bag)
– Technical Garment (late entries do not qualify for garment)
– Bus transport for each day from the finish line to the start line
– Lunch included for each day of racing (late entries do not qualify for lunch)
– Medical and emergency services on standby
– Finishers medal

– Generosity and great atmosphere of each special venue each day

Registration and Late Entries:
Pre-entries for the 2 day and 3 day events will close 18 September 2015. No late entries will be accepted.
Pre-entries for the 1 day event will close 18 September and late entries can be done 27 September at 6:30 at Dana Bay 2nd Beach. Late entries do not qualify for a lunch ticket or race apparel. Registration for the 3 day event will be Thursday 24 September from 17:00 – 20:00 with a compulsory race briefing afterwards at Eco Marine Lodge.
Registration for the 2 day event will be Friday 25 September from 17:00 – 20:00 with a compulsory race at Sandpiper Sports Centre.

Compulsory Equipment (for your own safety):
As a precaution, we would like you to carry the following compulsory equipment with you during your run. It is for your own personal safety. Please adhere to the following:
Cell phone (on roaming please)
zip lock bag to keep phone dry
Space blanket
Backpack
Long Thermal base layer (pants and top)
Whistle
Hat
Emergency food
Headlamp
Water bottles
Sunscreen (factor 50)
Outer shell jacket (waterproof)
First aid kit

Please ensure that you have the compulsory equipment with you at all times during race as conditions change quickly.

Thursday, 24 September 2015:
17:00 – 20:00: Registration for 3 Day Trail Run at Eco Marine lodge, Gouritsmond
20:00: Race briefing for 3 Day Trail Run – compulsory

Friday, 19 September:
08:30: Meet at the town’s jetty in Gouritz River Mouth where you will leave your vehicle and be transported to the start. Your friends/family can also take you to the start. No cars to be left at the start line.
09:00: Start of the Race for 3 Day Runners. Run from Reins Nature Reserve to the jetty at Gourits River Mouth where you will be welcomed by the TriSport staff and your friends.
12:00: Lunch at Sand Piper Sports Centre, lunch for the pre-entry athletes of 3 Day. Please order extra lunches for your friends
17:00 – 20:00: Registration for 2 Day Trail Run at Sandpiper Sport Centre
20:00: Race briefing for 2 Trail Run – compulsory

Saturday, 20 September:
8:30: Meet at Sand Piper Cottages and Sports Centre in Boggoms Bay where you will leave your vehicle and be transported to the start. Your friends/family can also take you to the start. No cars to be left at the start line.
09:00: Start of the race for 2 Day and 3 Day runners. Run from Gourits River Mouth to the Sand Piper Cottages and Sport Centre in Boggoms Bay where you will be welcomed by the TriSport staff and your friends.
12:00: Lunch at Sand Piper Sports Centre, lunch for the pre-entry athletes of 2 Day and 3 Day. Please order extra lunches for your friends

Sunday, 21 September:
06:45 – 07:45: Registration and Late Entries for 1 Day at 2nd Beach Dana Bay
07:30: Meet at Poort in Mossel Bay where you will leave your vehicle and be transported to the start. Your friends/family can also take you to the start.
08:00: Start of all races. Run from Dana Bay 2nd beach to Big Blu Restaurant in Mossel Bay where you will be welcomed by the TriSport staff and your friends.
11:00: Lunch at Big Blu Restaurant at the Point, Mossel Bay. Lunch included for pre-entry athletes only.
12:30: Prize giving at Big Blu Restaurant at the Point, Mossel Bay.
