A “Cancer Survivor” is anyone living with cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life.
A cancer survivor is not just someone diagnosed with cancer, but it also includes your loved ones.
If you are touched in some way by cancer, if you are an artist living with cancer, if you are sharing your life with someone with cancer, or even if you lost someone to cancer, you are invited to take part in a unique art exhibition hosted in September by Cancercare Outeniqua Oncology in George. Contributors’ footprints will not only form part of the 2019 exhibition, but become part of an ongoing long-term goal towards creating hope and leaving footprints.
Media of sharing stories of hope and that of legacy can include paintings, pottery, photography, glass stain work, poetry, woodwork – any form of expressive art or craft.
Submissions for this project must reach Engela at firstname.lastname@example.org, before or on Friday, 28 June. Include a short story of your cancer journey, how it influences your art/craft, a picture of yourself, and a picture of your art.
The overall aim of this Leaving Footprints initiative is an event filled with joy, camaraderie, hope, compassion, faith, love and remembrance. It is to honour the lives of those touched by cancer for their strength and courage.
