This year individuals will also be able to enter at a cost of R60, which will include their Luminaria bag.
The Power of Purple is about to hit Mossel Bay in a major way.
You need to save the date: Saturday 4 November. This is the day that the 9th Mossel Bay Cansa Relay For Life 2017 will be held, and this year it is with a new twist.
The theme is the Power of Purple and purple will definitely be spreading in and around the town in the next few months.
The Relay will be held at the Seafront fun park in Hartenbos and it will run from 12:00 until 00:00. A number of new features will be added, such as a Bark for Life for the four-pawed friends; a scooter race for the pre-school kiddies; a putt-putt competition for school children; a super tube competition and most probably a spinning contest for teams (still to be confirmed).
All the old favourites and special events such as the survivors’ round, the Fight Back session as well as Luminaria, where everyone celebrates the life of those that have lost their fight against cancer and those still fighting, will form part of the programme.
A number of pre-Relay functions are also on the cards. These events will give teams the opportunity to generate funds.
The new RFL committee is hard at work behind the scenes and more information about the exciting Power of Purple events will be disclosed soon.
Teams that want to enter, can call Alma Kritzinger, the new team chairman (079 691 7708) or mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
