We are excited to announce that we’ll be opening 3 Pumptracks at the new Klipheuwel Mountain bike Park with a dedicated Kids Track, Slalom Track and Main Track. This will be a spectacular Dirt complex with more than 1200 tons of soil brought in to build the 3 tracks. Our partners on the project, Tippeton Plant hire under management of Hannes Neethling, (National Cross Country competitor) have been a key role player in the supply of the needed machinery in order to get it done in time.
The park will consist of no less than 24 berms, a 2,4 m bridge allowing riders to cross the track, multiple lines on the big track for those who are creative and a dedicated 2 lane slalom pump track with its own start and finish where riders can race each other head to head. We’ve even shipped our T590 Bobcat (one of a hand full in S.A) all the way from Pretoria just to do all of the final shaping with. Dirt Lab and most International bike park construction companies alike use this tracked skid steer for its superior shaping and landscaping capabilities. “It was vital for us to start using machinery that is dedicated for this job, building these tracks take extreme precision and handling capabilities with minimal ground disturbance so we use this machine for 90% of the project once the bulk work is done”.
